My family trips are usually very long. We normally go on the trips of 15 – 20 days but this time around the scenario was different. My mom have a knee problem so she can’t walk or stand for too long. We knew she is going to need rest at regular intervals. Thus, in 2016 we decided to go on a short trip of three days after Diwali. We wanted to explore Rajasthan and we had already explored Udaipur. Hence we were planning for Jaipur or Jaisalmer but before going for Jaisalmer, we decided to explore Pink City first. We decided the dates and booked tickets and hotel on make my trip.
Our schedule was like we had an evening flight to Jaipur on 5th November and a late night train back to Ahmedabad on 8th of November. It was a short trip but we wanted to make it grand and memorable. So while booking a hotel, my father gave me the list of four hotels to check out the prices and decide which will be more suitable for us. Here is that list:
1. Crowne Plaza
2. Hilton
3. Holiday Inn
4. The Lalit
I checked amenities and prices of these four hotels. After checking facilities and prices, I decided to go for Holiday Inn. I have had heard about its hospitality, ambience and value for money service but haven’t experienced it. And trip to Jaipur was best opportunity to experience it. Thus I booked room in Holiday Inn.
On 5th November, we landed in Jaipur around 8:30 p.m. I booked a cab and reached at Holiday Inn within half an hour. As I reached there, my first impression from outside was “Okay. It is bigger than the hotel in Ahmedabad.” But when we entered in it then I was like “WOW. It is awesome.” My father straight away got busy with check in process. My brother comforted mom on one of the sofas while I was already on the tour of hotel. Check in process was over in few minutes and I was called to proceed towards the room. We refreshed ourselves in the room for an hour and then we had pool side dinner in the hotel. It was a great start to the trip.
On 6th November, we had a breakfast at buffet. I booked a room with breakfast. So we began our day with heavy breakfast. After that we needed a car to roam around the city. Thanks to car rental service of the hotel, we got a car. It took us to Birla mandir, couple of museums, jal mahal and amer fort. It was long tiring day. We were back to hotel by evening but non stop sight seeing made mom tired. So mom and dad decided to take rest in the evening. While me and my brother spent some time in the cafe. It had awesome ambience, good theme and good food. You can’t ask more from a cafe. We had dinner in the restaurant that night. The best part about Holiday Inn in Jaipur was that once you enter in its premises, then you would not want to go out for anything.
On 7th, we went to see Hawa Mahal and Jantar Mantar. After visiting these two places we were back in the hotel as mom didn’t wanted another long day out. We rested for couple of hours. Rooms in the hotel were so well equipped and comfortable that mom was feeling like home. In the evening, we went to Chokhi Dhani village. Next morning, I finally spent some time in the pool before breakfast. We didn’t had much plans that day. Two forts were remaining for the visit, Jaigarh and Nahargarh. And we knew we will not be able to visit both in one day. So after visiting Nahargarh fort, we came back to hotel in afternoon and spent rest of the day in hotel only. We had to leave that night, thus we needed proper rest.
We left Jaipur on 8th November and reached Ahmedabad next morning. It was a trip in which we spend more time in the hotel than out of it. And we actually wanted that only. We wanted to rest, enjoy the break and Holiday Inn helped us in doing that. Holiday Inn’s amenities, service and hospitality made our trip grand and memorable. When we reached Ahmedabad on 9th November, pink revolution was about to begin. And we were ready for it after the pink city trip.
