5 Classic Hindi Movies You Can Watch With Your Family Anytime

In lockdown, we are craving for quality content and we have searched almost every platform for that. Web series and movies released during the period were either not watchable with family or not watchable at all.

Imagine, you are having dinner with your family and you are looking here and there because of the intimate scene on the screen or you are irking because of abusive language. In other words, you are missing some defining moments of a web series or a movie and above that, you are scolded for watching such content.

Thus, I have found some classic movies which you can enjoy with your family not only during lockdown but anytime. These movies are recommended keeping 90s generation in mind. In other words, these movies are classic according to 90s generation.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

This Ranbir starrer film will bring smile on the face of everyone in your family. If you are a youngster then it will give you friendship goals, career goals, couple goals and marriage goals. It will bring memories of your college trip. It will remind your parents (and other elders) of their youth. Some dialogues won’t get out of your head. And its dance numbers (songs) will push tap your foot or even dance with your family. It will show you difference of opinions and some harsh realities of life. These characteristics makes the film relatable.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

This full of life film brought three actors together who are completely different from each other and they created magical chemistry on screen. It (again) gave us friendship goals, took us to the destinations and those adventure sports about which we can only dream. It inspired us to face the fears and live life to fullest. ZNMD also give us life lessons. The actors takes mid aged and old age people on the nostalgic ride and bring smile on their face. I am still waiting for its sequel.

3 Idiots

This is the movie which opened 100 crore clubs in the country. This is the movie which increased the readership of Chetan Bhagat. I started reading Chetan Bhagat after watching 3 idiots. Basically it took engineers back to their college life and made them relive those moments. It was not only for engineers, it showcased harsh realities of our education system. In that stuff, people found their connection. This created a different genre altogether ‘life around Engineering’. Many web series and movies were made in that genre after 3 idiots. There is no doubt that people of all the age groups love this movie.

Golmaal

No, I am not talking about Amol Palekar’s Golmaal, I am talking about Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal. And I am not talking about the whole Golmaal series, I am talking about first part only. The movie is a magic, isn’t it? I didn’t watch it in theatre but on TV, I have watched it n number of times. The best part about this movie is, the more watch it the more you enjoy it. There are so many tiny scenes in the movie that are full of laughter and everytime you watch it, you find a new expression in it. And everybody loves it. Thus, it is a great family comedy. You can watch with your family anytime.

Munna Bhai Series

Munna Bhai Series is a set of movies made on different concepts with the same characters. Both the concepts are totally different from each other but the movies are equally great. Mostly, sequels loose the plot and don’t live upto the expectations but this series is so well made that both the concepts directly connect with the heart of the audience. And it connects with the people of different age groups. So you can have a great time while watching Munna Bhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munna Bhai with your family.

All the above mentioned movies are available on Netflix as well as Prime Video. So you can watch them on the platform of your preference.

  1. This is a good selection for wholesome family entertainment. I have watched them all the time. The best thing they are watchable again and again, would like to add Dhamaal to the list, was a very nice comedy.

  2. All of these have been my favourite but I guess they are not all family movies. Golmal has a pretentious rape scene, there are kisses and many other ‘grown up’ scenes where we can’t have kids around ๐Ÿ˜Š

  3. Loved your list Paresh. Incidentally all of these are our favourite and run on repeat mode in out home. Ideal family watch they are

  4. I have watched all of them.
But, yeah as you said, these movies can be watched with family without worrying at all.

    Good selection of movies.

  5. All are my favorite movies. I love to watch them often. Good collection to watch with family.

  6. You have listed my favorite movies of all time. Yes, all of these are super entertaining. But these are not all family movies, I guess. But can be seen with spouse and friends.
