Fatehgarh Heritage Resort, Udaipur

My friend came from Australia after 2 years. Thus, all of us planned a boys’ trip. We had only 2 days for this trip and we wanted to go on a road trip. And from Ahmedabad, you can have the best road trip if the destination is Udaipur.

After finalising Udaipur, the next step was to book a resort. All of us used our online skills and contacts to come down to three names. Two of them were in the outskirts and after considering all the factors, we decided to stay in the outskirts. And out of two options, Fatehgarh matched our vibes. Thus, we decided to go for it.

Location

As I already mentioned, it is situated in the outskirts of Udaipur. It takes 10-12 minutes to reach the resort from the centre of Udaipur city. It is located on a hill and you need good driving skills to drive uphill, especially at night. Once you reach the destination, the drive will be worth it. My suggestion would be take the driver with you if you don’t want to stress yourself by driving up and down again and again. In a short time, the roads may get better as a lot of resorts are under construction near the Fatehgarh Heritage Resort.

If you want to live in a palace and don’t have a budget for the city palace or Taj palace resorts then you have to go out of the city. Fatehgarh heritage resort will be a great choice and will be pocket friendly too.

Rooms

The following are different types of rooms in the resort: Heritage chamber rooms, heritage suites with balcony, Renaissance rooms, plunge pool suites and honeymoon suites with a private pool. We stayed in Renaissance Rooms and they had a balcony. Most of the Renaissance rooms in the resort come with a balcony and the balcony gives you a breathtaking view of the hills around. Apart from the balcony, the Renaissance rooms are very spacious and bright. The interiors of the room have been designed with a lot of thought. The colours used in the interior design uplift your mood.

After considering all the factors, I think Renaissance rooms are the best rooms to stay in the resort. They are better than the cheapest rooms and give you the feel of the costliest room in the resort.

Amenities

At Fatehgarh Heritage Resort, you get all the five-star amenities except the Gym. A gym is a must in a 5-star property but Fatehgarh Heritage Resort has couple of other amenities which most of the 5-star properties lack. Skywalk and Vintage Car Museum. Skywalk at the Resort will take in the lap of nature. You can watch over lush green farms and even experience sunrise and sunset. Sunrise and sunset on the skywalk will satisfy your soul and make your heart happy.

I have described the vintage car museum in detail below. Apart from these amenities, there are multiple swimming pools on different floors. There are different restaurants on different floors. You can do candlelight dinners at the rooftop restaurant. A barbeque station, bar and green gardens are the cherry on top.

Vintage Car Museum

When I first read about Vintage Car Museum in the resort, I had no idea about what kind of cars it will possess because by then I had seen the vintage car shows on TV. And the shows were of Western countries, not India. Moreover, we have read about the bravery of Indian kings not about their car fantasies. So the Vintage Car Museum was the surprise package for me. When I opened the package I was happy to see few of the classic cars on display. The museum is not huge, there are only six cars in that museum but all of them will tell you a story. Along with cars, there is one bullet as well in the museum.

You can not only see it but you can go on a ride in one of those cars. It’s an add-on service which the resort provides. They will charge you but will definitely take you on a ride in one of those vintage cars.

Adventures

Apart from vintage cars, you can ride on a zip line as well. Yes, you read it right, there is a zip line as well in this resort. Where they allow you to go to and fro on their short aerial route through trees on the hill. It will tickle your adventurous bone as soon as you see it. Thus, to experience it, you will pay as this also is an add-on service. It will definitely give an adrenaline rush and it is perfect for those who have never tried zip line.

I think these factors are enough for you to decide whether you want to choose Fatehgarh Heritage Resort as your stay on your next trip to Udaipur or not. My stay was a blast. We made a lot of memories on that trip. The amenities were perfect for a boys’ trip. For us, it was a relaxing and refreshing stay.
