I visited the world of Pokemon after a long time and witnessed Mewtwo for the first time on screen. This is what I felt about it:
I was searching old episodes of @Pokemon when I came across the trailer of @NetflixFilm Mewtwo Strikes Back: Evolution. Yes, the title is bit awkward & if I add Pokemon in it then it becomes stretchy as well. The trailer covered it really well & ignited a sense of excitement.

I was excited because the trailer was nostalgic & it promised to show the complete story in the movie. In my childhood, I saw only first two seasons of #Pokemon. So I never saw Mewtwo on screen, I only played with him. My urge to witness him was the main reason to watch the film.

Moreover when you watch the trailer, the quality of animation pulls you towards the film even if you don’t know anything about Pokemons.

The movie starts with the introduction of one of the rarest Pokemons Mew and its fossil. Team rocket gives birth to Mewtwo from that fossil.
I don’t know if this is the real theory of Pokemon world but the introduction of strongest Pokemon was the grandest. Then team rocket started their domination using Mewtwo but Mewtwo proved to be too strong for team rocket. He took charge and started misusing his powers.

There comes the role of Ash. Ash stopped him and made him realise that real power is in living with love and compassion. That’s the story of the film.

Ash, Brock and Misti with their set of Pokemons bring back the childhood memories. Jesse, James and Meowth also add their flare.
The quality of animation as I mentioned is world class. In fact, it is the highlight of the film. I would recommend @netflix to recreate the complete Pokemon series in the same quality. It will be a huge hit!

The length of this film is 1 hr 38 mins & it is the drawback of film.
It is so short that it doesn’t let you explore your childhood properly. The moment you start establishing that connection, it enters in the climax.

If the length would have been around 2 hrs 30 mins and Ash fought in few Poke league then it would have been perfect.
Having said that, it is worth a watch. You will see a lot of new things which you didn’t witness in Pokemon series. It will bring all the Pokemon fantasies back in your life.
