‘Sachin and Warne are planning a t20 league.’ I read this headline on Twitter a while back. It created lot of questions in mind like What kind of league it is going to be?, Why are they planning this league?, Where will they play this league? & Which players are going to play in this league? I got my answers when I came across cricket all stars website on the same platform twitter. First thing I saw on the website was the team names. Sachin Blasters & Warne Warriors. Next up was the venues. I was surprised to see New York, Houston and Los Angeles as the venues. Yes, this league is organised in USA. This league is organised to globalise the game & T20 is the best format in the game to get attention of the people.
The players playing in this league are all the retired cricketers of India, Australia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, West Indies, New Zealand & England. Sachin, Sehwag, Ganguly, Laxman, Agarkar & Samir Dhige are the players from India playing in this league. Warne, Hayden, Ponting, McGrath & Symonds are the Australian players playing in this league. From New Zealand its Daniel Vettori. While from England Vaughan & Swann will participate in this league. South Africa’s Shaun Pollock, Lance Klusener, Jhonty Rhodes, Alan Dinald & Kallis will also show their skill in USA while Sri Lankans Jayawardene, Sangakarra & Murlidharan will teach some tricks of cricket to USA. Lara, Hooper, Walsh & Ambrose will add carribean flavour in the league while Pakistan’s Wasim Akram, Shoaib Akhtar, Moin Khan & Saqlain Mushtaq will display the art of bowling and keeping in this league.
These names has created wave of excitement in the cricketing world. Above that these names have created the excitement for cricket in USA which is more commendable. After setting up the whole event everyone was curious about the team formation. Who is going to play in Sachin’s team? Who is going to play in Warne’s team? was the topic of discussion on the dinner table at many homes. Draw of players happened on 5th November & now teams are like:

It was almost going to be India vs Australia but they exchanged their fast bowlers in the end. Both Sachin & Warne has quality players in their teams. Both the teams are well poised. It is going to be a great contest.
I have grown up watching these players and I like them more than the current players. So I am pretty excited for Sachin-Sourav opening, Sachin-Lara tunning, Warne-Wasim spell, McGrath-Muralidharan spell, Laxman-Jayawardene partnership, Ponting-Vaughan partnership, Hayden-Sangakarra hitting, Klusener-Pollock blitz, Wasim-Walsh jamming, Saqlain-Warne combination, Ambrose-Pollock striking etc etc. By watching these superstars on the cricket field (or the baseball field) I am going to re-live my childhood. It’s a bonanza for cricket lovers. I am neither supporting Sachin’s Blasters nor Warne’s Warriors. I am supporting WARSTERS. Let the games begin.
