After Dream Girl, I had a lot of expectations for this one. Let’s see if it has lived upto those expectations.
It started with Andhadhun, @ayushmannk found his form back as an actor and started hitting the ball from the middle of bat. Then Badhai Ho gave him the momentum. And he is carrying that momentum forward with every film. This is his 2nd consecutive 100(Cr film) this year.

@ayushmannk is hitting the ball in the rights areas, he striking the right chords of heart with his films. And the best part is he is not afraid of doing such films. In other words, he is not afraid of failure. After Dream Girl, my expectations from Bala were high.

And I am glad to say that it lived upto those expectations. As shown in the trailer, this story is about a guy who was famous (arrogant and over confident) because of his hair during the school time, gets bald in mid 20s. Due to that, he loose his (over) confidence.

He tries everything & is left with no other option than wearing a wig. With the wig, he gets his confidence back & woos a tik tok sensation (played by @yamigautam). She started loving him because of his charming personality & good looks. They start making tik tok videos together.

Parallelly, this story is also about @ayushmannk's classmate @bhumipednekar who possess dark skin tone. Since childhood, she has been referred as kali. And @ayushmannk (with the help of filters) is making her look fairer on instagram so that she gets married soon.

Both the stories connect with each other when she finds out that @ayushmannk is editing her pictures. She reveals the secret of @ayushmannk in front of @yamigautam. And due to that, @yamigautam breaks up with @ayushmannk and goes back in her ostentatious world.

Then @bhumipednekar teaches @ayushmannk to accept himself the way he is. And that is the moral of the story. @ayushmannk is exceptional in the movie. Among actresses, people will find @bhumipednekar's acting more impactful but @yamigautam has also played her role equally well.

Overall, Bala is an awesome film which will make you feel good about yourself. Along with that, it gives a strong message to society. This movie is not just about skin shaming or hair shaming, it touches a lot of other topics which prevail in our society. Thus it is a must watch.

Bala seems to be a really fun caper. I was debating whether to see it or not, but your post has nudged me to go for it and enjoy some wholesome entertainment.

I love movies with such a concept. They give the audience or the Indian mentality a person has much more than subjecting them to skin color, baldness or obesity in general. I have not seen this movie but wish to see it sometime soon. Loved the Tweetview 🙂
