After buying the ZEE5 club subscription (also read, ZEE5 Club: ZEE5’s exclusive subscription pack), first series I watched is Virgin Bhaskar. I was recommended this series by a friend. As soon as he recommended the series, I was like, “What kind of series are you recommending?” considering the title. He said, “Just watch it!” Apart from my friend, ZEE5 also recommended this series. I mean to say there were notifications of the launch of season 2 of the series. Moreover, it was in the recommendations as soon as I bought the ZEE5 Club. Thus, I decided to watch it.
Virgin Bhaskar
As the title suggests, it is an adult series, an adult comedy actually. ZEE5 lets you know that it is an adult series the moment you tap on it.
The Cast
When I started watching the series, the cast was fairly new for me. I had only seen Dherendra Kumar Tiwari before. Apart from him, I had no idea about any other actor.
Plot
The story is based in Banaras or Varanasi or Kashi and it revolves around a guy named Bhaskar. Bhaskar is in Banaras because he is preparing for UPSC. To earn his living he writes novels and the title has already made it clear that he is a virgin. He has two friends Mishraji and a teenager, Rohan. Two seasons have been released so far and both the seasons offer a different story. Find the description of both the seasons below:
Season 1
Bhaskar Tripathi is a porn writer and people around him provide him the content to write such stories as a bad boy. The problem is that people around him also make fun of his virginity and encourage him to loose it. Bhaskar is an introvert guy who is shy of even asking a girl out. He meets one girl (Vidhi Pandey) who is completely opposite to Bhaskar but also preparing for UPSC. They fell in love with each other and that gave birth to the chaos around him. Finally, Vidhi finds out that he is the bad boy and breaks up with him. To impress her again, he quit writing erotic stories and pen down their love story.
Season 2
In season 2, a bad girl is introduced who brings in the third angle and makes Bhaskar’s love story a love triangle. As Bhaskar quit writing erotic stories, Paakhi writes one using the name bad boy to come into the scene. On the other hand, both Bhaskar and Vidhi fail in the UPSC entrance exam and Vidhi’s parents start pushing her for marriage. After the hit attempt of Paakhi, Bhaskar starts getting offers of writing erotic stories again. He collaborates with Paakhi and starts writing erotic stories again. This time stories were presented as written by bad boy and bad girl.
Mishraji starts his own cafe and to attract the audience he starts doing standup called Mishrology. Rohan gets inspired by Bhaskar and Vidhi’s love story and starts focusing on finding true love instead of one night stand. The collaboration between Bhaskar and Paakhi again gives birth to chaos in the life of Bhaskar. And the season ends as Bhaskar sort out the problems of his love life.
Did Bhaskar loose the virginity?
Well, watch #VirginBhaskar2 to get that answer. #lovesexlafda
Review
Honestly, my first impression of the series when I heard the name was, the series will be nothing but crap, full of erotic scenes and no story but I was surprised to find a story in the series. The one-liners were really funny and at certain points, it made sense. Mishrology is the highlight of not only the season but the whole series. The lead actors have done their role well. Dherendra Tiwari and other supporting actors make you laugh with his comic timing.
As it is an adult comedy so there are erotic scenes and abusive language in the series. Thus, you can’t watch it with your family or with children around. Yes, it can be enjoyed with your friends.
