Amara Singapore Review

Just two days before the take off, there was a message in the whatsapp group that there is a change in the itinerary. And the change was we were boarding the cruise on day one instead of day four and the change of hotel to Amara Singapore in Singapore.

A change just two days before commencement of the trip gave birth to doubts in our minds. Though they assured the 4-star hotel (as promised) and a ‘better one’ but still this last minute change created some whispers within the group.

I googled the hotel while we were checking out from the cruise and at that moment I felt fully satisfied with the change. Honestly, I googled it before boarding the flight as well but at that time I only checked that it is a 4-star and it has good reviews. Good reviews didn’t satisfy me fully, photos and videos of the hotel did.

Welcome

We reached hotel around 2 p.m. and after starting a morning at 7:30 a.m. (in cruise), we were very tired. As we entered in the hotel, we were welcomed with a refreshing welcome drink. The minty welcome drink fueled some energy in us. And after that drink, we started noticing the things around us. The vibe of the hotel was pretty good. The staff was very welcoming. As soon as we got the key from reception, one of the staff members brought the carrier for the luggage. He guided us to the room, dropped the luggage and left after wishing us a great stay.

Room

When you get a spacious room with a king size bed, with a view and a huge washroom with jacuzzi in it then you are in for value for money experience. I arranged the bags in one corner and jumped on the bed straight away. After a thirty-minute nap, I brewed a cup of coffee and started checking everything in the room.

In-room amenities

Apart from tea, coffee and couple of water bottles, there were pairs of footwear and bathrobes in the wardrobe. Oral care, skin care and hair care products were also available in the washroom. All these things added a slice of luxury in our stay.

Other Amenities

Swimming area is very well designed space in the hotel. There is a pool with the depth of 5 feet. At this depth, any person with a normal height can enjoy couple of hours in the pool. Even if you are not in the mood of going in then you can enjoy calmness of the city on the shacks or in the gazebo by the pool with an infused drink. In the morning time, it works as a swimming pool and during the night time it works as dining/bar by the pool.

The entrance to swimming area is the exit of Gym. Gym in the is very well equipped. One can start or end his/her day positively by burning few calories in it. There are some fitness freaks who love to workout even on their trips. This hotel covers that aspect very well.

Apart from swimming area and gym, there is a banquet hall in the hotel. If your company is planning a corporate trip to Singapore then this banquet hall is good enough to organise a conference or a seminar in it.

Food

The restaurant in the hotel is amazing. Ambiance, space, menu, service, you name the factor and they will be ready to amaze you. My room tariff included the breakfast. Thus every morning during my stay, I went there and was amazed by the buffet. I am an eggetarian and love trying different dishes of egg. And every morning I was served 2-3 different delicacies of egg on demand as there was a live egg corner. Apart from a egg corner, delicious baked dishes and variety of juices satisfied my taste buds. Yes, non-veg dishes was more than veg dishes in the menu but baked dishes, juices and fresh fruits are enough to satisfy a vegetarian.

Every night during my stay, I used to pass through restaurant and found out that lot of locals come for dinner. Thus, it is a hangout place for locals as well.

As I mentioned earlier, my stay at Amara Singapore was worth every single penny. It set the standards for me. After that experience, wherever I stayed I started comparing it with Amara.

So if you are planning a trip to Singapore and can’t afford 5-star+ hotels then do check out this hotel. And if you are booking a trip through travel company then push them to book this hotel.
