Samsung Galaxy Fit Review

Samsung recently launched galaxy fit 2 along galaxy S20 FE and I bought the galaxy fit this year. Actually, I had no plan of buying a smartwatch this year. In fact, I was saving money for a foreign trip but the pandemic washed away all the plans. Thus, I was left with the extra money this year.

Even though I was left with a bit of money, the price of this watch was too high, definitely higher than what I was left with. Thus, I focused on saving more but from nowhere I got a deal and bought it in a price range at which Chinese brands are selling their smartwatches.

I will start with its features and my experience and then I will let you know how can you buy it at a special price.

Features

I am using the galaxy fit for almost three months now and I can say I have experienced all the features so I can tell what works best in this smartwatch/smart band.

AMOLED display

This smart watch/band comes with an AMOLED display. I don’t think any other brand provides AMOLED display in their budget smart watches/bands. And when it comes to the quality of screen, you can trust Samsung blindly.

120 mAh battery

Galaxy fit possesses a 120 mAh battery. Though the company claims that 100% battery lasts 7 to 8 days but actually it lasts at the most 4 days. You can expect 3.5 to 4 days of battery run time. You will get a magnetic charger in the box to charge with the device.

Auto fitness and wellness tracking

If you do any exercise for more than 10 minutes wearing galaxy fit then it will be tracked automatically. If you are walking, running, cycling or jogging then it will show you that and if you are doing any other exercises then it will show as customised workout. The moment you entered the eleventh minute of your exercise, the watch will vibrate and will show your progress. Isn’t it amazing?

Water Resistant

It comes with 5 ATM rating. Every day it gets wet when I wash my hands. Apart from that, it has got a rain shower couple of times and it works totally fine. I think it is good enough to track your swimming sessions as it informs you about your strokes and the ideal time in the water.

Vivid Interface

The interface is very user friendly with 40+ watch faces. The touch works in an amazing manner. There is no lagging whatsoever in the whole interface. Swipe right to enter the notification panel where you can check notifications of your phone and can reply with a preset reply to a message or mail. Swipe left to enter the widget center, you can choose widgets on galaxy wearable app. You will need two apps galaxy wearable and Samsung health to get the best result from this device. Samsung health will tell you all the summaries of your workout and galaxy wearable will help you with all the settings of the device.

Lightweight loaded with active sensors

It weighs around 25 grams. One can say it is a lightweight smart band/watch loaded with active sensors. All the sensors work really well. Heart rate sensor, activity sensor, step counter, calorie counter, stress-o-meter, notification panel, call notification; everything works totally fine. The sensors are so good that when you drive a bike on a road full of potholes, the watch will detect it as cycling. There is no problem even in the wrist motion screen on and off function.

Special Price

After reading the features, you would have got an idea about how good galaxy fit is. The price of this device is around Rs. 9000/-. Even after applying the deals on different apps, you will get it at the price of Rs. 8000/- but you will be surprised to know that I got it at a special price of Rs. 6199/-

There is one app that is providing it at that price and that app is Reliance Digital. Only thing is, the product will year older, the manufacturing date will be of July 2019.

On Tata Cliq, you will get it around Rs. 8500/- depending on bank cards and on Samsung Shop, you will get it around Rs. 7500/-.

  1. Paresh you mentioned that you are writing a tech review for the 1st time. Well, you have aced it. You have added all the details a reader and potential buyer would like to know. A picture or two of it on your wrist would just add to the review. Great going!

  2. Thanks for the detailed review, Paresh. Since I recently bought one of the Chinese smartwatches, I regret not reading this post earlier and getting a better product at this price.

  3. Wow, that’s such a great deal you got from Reliance digital app. And, thanks for sharing your review and covering all the important points, I am definitely checking it out.

  4. Not bad for a first tech review! This seems to be a nice smartwatch for all fitness lovers. A non Chinese brand that many are looking for too. Being a leader in display screens, I’m sure Samsung would have had that tech in this fitness band as well and hence the vivid display. Have fun with your new watch!

    1. Only if it lasts. Filhaal toh it is falling while excercising and fighting with walls and other surfaces. I forget that it is not that scratch resistant fastrack.

  5. This one looks like a very good brand of Fitness Band. In fact, I chanced upon your post at the right time since I was planning to gift one to my father. Thanks for sharing the review in such detail.

  6. I have just got my fitness band of a different brand though. This fitness band looks great and with so many modes for better tracking a person’s activity.

  7. This has piqued my interest & your review is on point. It leaves no room for doubts, Paresh. Will check it out. I’m amazed at the price for these features.
